All purchases of hazardous chemicals must have the prior
approval of
SC/GS/GC.
In CERN's Chemical Safety Code B, all chemicals introduced to CERN by means
other than direct purchase must be declared to SC/GS/GC. The object of this control is to ensure that
persons wishing
to use chemicals are informed of the dangers involved and of the precautions to be taken to
ensure
the safety of personnel, which is and remains the responsibility of their supervisor.
